AU Name: Ren Amamiya
AU Age: 17
Physical Differences: Aside from possibly a different pair of glasses to fit the setting, no real changes.
AU History: Ren was born to fairly wealthy parents in the Blue Court territory. At the start, he had a happy life and it seemed like he had a bright future. With the possibility to do great things once he was fully an adult. And parents that had appeared to love him. At least appeared anyway. They certainly weren't a good influence on Ren, because he was spoiled and a jerk.

However that all changed one night.

He was walking outside when he spotted a woman in trouble. He rushed there to see some high ranking noble was attacking her, and stepped in. The noble got injured during this, and Ren ended up in real trouble. Because of his parents’ connections, Ren was let off with basically a slap on the wrist, but his parents became cold towards him. Now wanting to wipe their hands clean of him.

So during the last Finding, they bribe the blue court vampires to rig it so Ren gets chosen. Much to their delight, and even verbally disowning him. Which both hurt him greatly, and was the wake-up call that Ren needed. While traveling towards the castle and thinking about his life, he came to realize that he has a new chance at a life. Or unlife in this case. And perhaps he could become better as a person.

When he arrived at the castle, he met his maker. Who showed him kindness, and gave some encouragement as well as reassurance. Time will tell if Ren will become a better person as a vampire or worse.

AU Personality: Much like appearances, there isn’t a whole lot of differences.

In both canon and this AU, he has a very strong sense of justice and bravery. If anyone is in trouble, he will rush in regardless of the consequences. He is not capable of standing by at all, and will try to save everyone he can. Even though he logically knows he can’t. He isn’t afraid to stand up to others, not even authority. He can also be quite brave, and very confident in himself, in general.

Another similarity is the tendency to be very extra and have a flair for the dramatic at times. He doesn’t believe in half-assing anything. He does things all the way or not at all. Which while this translates in having very good grades, he is the not best of students. What with his bad habit of being easily distracted and not paying the most attention during class. AU Ren isn’t much better, but his former personal tutor knew how to deal with Ren’s antics well so he couldn’t get away with it as well as his canon self.

Both his canon self and his AU self has some trust issues. Mainly as a result of getting arrested and in his canon self’s case, gaining a criminal record. Canon Ren hated cops, while AU Ren isn’t fond of most higher authority. Neither of them have good relationships with their parents, though it’s unknown how his parents in canon were. Other than arranging him to move schools and pulling a favor from someone to act as canon Ren’s temporary legal guardian.

Despite the trust issues, both can still form bonds and they are very loyal to them. There’s also a teasing playful side both show to those they trust, while showing a mild politeness to everyone else. As well as kindness to those who need it (well more-so his canon self than this AU Ren. At least for now).

In terms of differences and how the setting affected Ren… Much like stated above, he was originally a jerk due to his wealthy upbringing, and perhaps a little naive. While he would still do the right thing, and was capable of kindness when he wanted to, he had an attitude towards others that weren’t family. That all changed after his parents disowned him after he got chosen in the Finding. While his parents did bail him out and acted cold towards him, it wasn't until that moment that he realized that he needed to improve as a person. As well as shaking the naivety out of him.

That said, he still has some way to go to improve as a person, and he’s much more bitter about his parents’ betrayal. A good part of him desires revenge, even if he does believe he did deserve being picked a little. Being disowned was a step too far. At least his opinion of vampires have been pretty neutral, though he doesn't like the fact that he's being forced to be turned into a vampire.

Anticipated Court: Blue Court. Although red is more Ren’s color, the parts of masking and shapeshifting suits Ren really well. In canon, he had the ability to use multiple personas, which are pieces of his soul that he could use to fight monsters called Shadows with. And whenever he convinces a shadow to become one of his “masks”, said “mask” then becomes a persona he can use.

Ren was born in the small town of Inaba. His mother is an artist and owns an art shop where she sold paintings and clay vases/figures that she's made. His father on the other hand, was a cop, and a heavy drinker. He was very abusive to Ren and his mother, and Ren couldn't do anything about it. His father had connections, so the only thing he could get was meaningless words from Detective Dojima and others from the police force.

But it wasn't all bad.

During Ren's childhood, he met a boy his age named Kanji Tatsumi. He was getting picked on for having a cute lunchbox and he stepped in to defend him. They became best friends and even got to know Kanji's parents. The Tatsumi residence would prove to a safe place to run too when the abuse got too much.

Sadly that didn't last. During the first year of middle school, Kanji's dad died and Ren's father forbad him from seeing Kanji due to Kanji becoming a delinquent. Ren was devastated but had no choice but keep a distance from him, and keep enduring the abuse alone again.

It's now 2011 and Ren is starting his first year of high school. He's been planning for the past couple of years to have an escape plan for himself and his mom, and he intends to leave once he finishes high school and get into a good college outside of town.

What he hadn't expected was the news of Saki Konishi's death. He was familiar with that family due to his father often forcing Ren to buy booze for him from that store, and the Konishis were fine with this because Ren's dad was their biggest customer, so are willing to look the other way. So it'll make the next time he's forced to go there awkward.

Currently his mom is having him run some errands in the shopping district. He's in a real hurry so there's a good chance he might accidentally run into someone on the way...

Ren was just a normal kid living in a small town. One night, his life changed forever. While he was heading home that night, he witnessed a kidnapping attempt and ran in to stop it. He saved the woman's life but because the guy he stopped just happened to be a politician, he got arrested and sued. He was expelled from his old high school, and his parents had to pull in a favor to not only find him a new school, but where he could stay.

He was accepted at Kosei High School, a highly respected catholic school that held talented students and gave them the best education. The only reason Ren could get in was because Ren happened to be very talented with piano and thus had a music scholarship.

His guardian is the owner of Leblanc Coffee and Curry. He was not happy to be hosting a kid with a criminal record, but he is friends with Ren's parents and he supposedly got paid for it. He took him to Kosei to see the principal. There was a polite coldness but at least it could have been more hostile. Ren silently thanked his starts for that. Then came the first day of school.

Ren ate curry and coffee for breakfast, but had no idea it would rain today. So he was forced to get there in the rain. He was halfway there when he notices a nice car pulling up. The driver seems to be an old man with long grey hair pulled in a ponytail.

"Hello there young man. Would you like a ride towards the school? It would be better than having to run in the rain, don't you think?"

Ren has no idea that the old man isn't alone in the car.

For as long as humanity had gained knowledge from the Tree of Knowledge, angels and demons existed. As well as the Yokai that existed in Japan since the creation of Japan itself. While humans were aware of their existence, they did not believe they were real. Thus angels, demons, and Yokai would hide from humanity, and sometimes disguise themselves as humans.

While Ren himself wasn't around for when the original group of angels fell and became demons, or Adan and Eve getting kicked out, he was born in hell as a demon. While Hell wasn't exactly a good place to live, Ren had it rough especially because he isn't like other demons. Mainly that he only wanted to punish the wicked and didn't harm innocents or be overly cruel to those who didn't deserve it. He got bullied as a young demon as being 'not evil enough'. He tried to be more evil, but he just couldn't.

Since he couldn't be as evil as most other demons, he was recently assigned to bring in dark souls of humans who committed horrible acts to bring them down to Hell.

His first target was Suguru Kamoshida. He had done many horrible things, including abusing students and driving one to try to end her own life. And it happened to be in a school that Ren was attending disguised as a mortal human. When he confronted Kamoshida alone on what he had done, he proceed to kill him and his soul passed on to hell.

Now he's on his second target: Ichiryuusai Madarame. A man who had been abusing art students by stealing their artwork and claiming it as his own, and his last student left was a kitsune named Yusuke, who had just found out Madarame was responsible for his mother's death. And killing a kitsune, let alone killing a kitsune's mom and taking her cub in to use for his own gain was unforgivable.

Much like Kamoshida, he confronted him directly and he's about to kill him as well. Madarame is terrified on the ground, looking like he's about to have a heart attack and Ren has his horns and black feather wings out. He has a knife in his hands.

"You should have changed jobs when you had the chance, but because of your vanity, you have committed sins against the innocent and the life of a Kitsune. Which is unforgivable. You are going to die and face punishment for eternity!"

The old man raised his hands. "P-Please spare me! I'll give you my soul if you spare my life."

"Not a chance, old man."

However, unknown to Ren, a certain angel of death was sent to end Madarame's life and pick up his soul...

Some months ago, Nino had been on his way to return home from New York and that whole adventure when he was called by the Storyteller for help. The world of the Index and other book worlds were in danger because of the threat of the Story Eater and his Erasers trying to destroy all the stories and kill everything in it.

Nino of course agreed and then appeared in the Index in not only a green and yellow male yukata outfit, but he had been changed a lot. Because he was given the essence of Kappa, he had a hole in his head holding water though a leaf crown was on his head to mostly hide it, a turtle shell on his back, webbed hands and feet, and fangs.

In the first month hadn't been so bad other than having to adjust to his new body. Sure he had to be careful with the water on his head and most food didn't fill him up, but at least cucumbers did the trick. And he had a pretty sweet japanese style house and lake.

Then the second month happened. Earlier in the month, he and the other Aspects (people from other worlds that had essences of their own) into a book world that combined Beauty and the Beast and The Nutcracker, he found that he now needed blood. At least once a month.

It had been a struggle to deal with that, especially when he got a friend anemic, and was then later next month forced to feed on one of the Mouse King's soldiers. And that was on top of being turned into a living clay figure, and then a living action figure for the rest of his time in that world.

He got back to the Index and while he had been happy to know that on top of knowing how to Sumo Wrestle, he can do Judo, it did not last.

The Story Eater showed up and suddenly a portal opened up, sending him and everyone else through it.

When Nino woke up, he realized that he's back in Paris at night. But just as when he felt relief at being home again, people around him noticed Nino and ran from him.

"What, is there an aku--?"

He looks down and sees that he's still in his Kappa form, with some water dripping. Somehow the essence came with him and now it seems he's stuck like this.

He forces himself to raise his head but now he's starting to panic. Why is he still like this?!

"W-what the heck?! Why am I still a Kappa?! I-is this permanent. I..."

While Nino is having his meltdown, he's unaware of a familiar superhero heading his way...

Ren has been in Hawaii for at least sometime now due to a school field trip. He's thankful that he was able to go even if he only knows a little english. He had never left Japan before, so this was all new to him. At least most of the americans he had come across seem friendly enough. And he was lucky to run into a few that knew Japanese.

At the beach, Ren is out in his bathing trunks. He's been trying to get some time out in the sun whenever he can since they will have to fly back to Japan in a few days.

As he's walking along the beach, he spots something, or rather someone in the distance.

Is that...blue hair in an emo style? He hasn't seen that hairstyle since the early 2000s when he was much younger.

Ren tries to see if he can get a closer look.

Since the beginning, vampires and were-creatures have existed together. Neither side really liked each other, but would put aside their differences when something threatened both sides. Nowadays, which it's not outright war, but it's not friendly either.

Werewolves, like other were-creatures, didn't change into a monstrous form on a full moon night. Instead, they would be stuck in their animal forms until the next night. The first night of the new moon however, temporarily made them human until there was a moon out again.

Last night was a full moon, so Nino is recovering from having been stuck in wolf form the previous night. It wasn't as bad as being stuck human, but it was annoying to deal with every month.

He's wandering around, making sure to keep the hood of his hoodie up to hide his wolf ears, as well as having his tail hidden inside the hoodie. He's also trying to keep his clawed hands in the pockets of the hoodie. He's tried gloves before, but that didn't work.

As he walks, he's unaware that he'll be meeting a certain vampire that will push his life in a new direction...

It has been difficult for Ren lately.

For a while, it had seemed like things were looking up, and even having a detective on their side helped. A detective that Ren has been slowly falling in love with. He wasn't sure if Akechi was even attracted to other guys or not, so he has been keeping it to himself. At least until he was more sure.

Then the fight between Ryuji and Morgana happened. He should have stopped the fight, and force them to talk out their feelings to make peace, but he froze up and Morgana left. He should have know there was tension building and nipped it in the bud, but he was too blind. It had been a struggle to get Morgana back, earn Haru's trust and change her father's heart.

It seemed like that was the end of the troubles, but during the celebration. Haru's father died on TV. Putting the blame on them. It was a huge blow to the team. It was especially a blow to Ren, who had been still hurting a little from Morgana leaving the team, and this shattered what confidence he had left.

During a training session in Mementos, Ren's personas start not working properly. Even to the point that he can't summon any at all. Not even Arsene. And during a bad moment, his phantom thief form drops and he can't get it back. This had worried the team and confused them on why Ren lost his persona abilities. But Ren had a feeling why that is.

He made sure he wasn't followed when he went somewhere to privately check his suspicion. He had somehow kept the app despite not having any personas. Sure enough, he has a palace. It didn't take too long to figure out the keywords since apparently figuring out the keywords to your own palace is a lot easier than trying to find other people's palaces.

He doesn't want the others to deal with his palace as he didn't want to worry them anymore than he already has. But he knows without a way to defense himself, it would be suicide.

So he calls the one person he can trust to help him with this. He closes the app and makes a call.

"Hey Akechi. I figured out what happened with me earlier, and it turns out I have a palace. I don't want to bring the others into this, so please don't tell them. I need your help to take care of it so I can get my persona ability back."

He hopes the detective will agree.

Unknown to humans, both vmapires and were-creatures have existed since the beginning. Both sides have never really liked each other, though there were times when they had to put aside their differences when something threatened both sides.

Despite what humans believed, were-creatures didn't change into a monstrous form on the sight of a full moon. If anything, they would be stuck in their animal forms for that night. It's during the first night of the new moon (aka when there's no moon in the sky) is when they resembled humans.

Nino was born to a family of pure-blooded werewolves. Werewolves that were born that way and not turned. There are not many families of those left in the world. His life was fairly happy despite the eternal war between vampires and the were-creatures, but then a couple months ago, his family disappeared.

He has been on the move trying to find them. All the while trying to hide from any humans and especially vampires.

Tonight is a full moon, so Nino is stuck in his wolf form. Which is fine since most humans seemed to mistake him for a large dog that's feral. He managed to make sure he didn't get captured as he doesn't wanna end up getting fixed.

As he wandered the streets, he is unaware that his werewolf life was gonna change yet again...

A few months have passed since the Obivio incident. While things turned out okay, Nino's relationship with Alya started to take a nosedive. They started to argue a lot and eventually after a nasty argument over him worrying about Alya putting herself in danger, he broke up with her.

It had been hard, but eventually he healed. He also started to hang out with Adrien a little more often since he's single again.

Today Nino was able to have Adrien over to his place for a change. Which was great. What wasn't so great was that he hadn't had time to properly clean his room. He had been so busy between DJ gigs, school, and when Ladybug needed Carapace.

At least Chris was sleeping at his grandparents' place and both of his parents are stuck at work so he and Adrien are able to be home alone.

Nino guides Adrien through his room. "Sorry about this mess. I'm not usually this messy."

The Miraculouses have been around since ancient times and wield great power. The Ladybug and the Cat Miraculous are the most powerful as they are the power of creation and destruction.

However, there is a price to them.

The moment you are chosen to wield one of those Miraculouses, you are given a curse. A curse that whenever the person of the opposite sex hugs you, you are transformed into the animal of your Miraculous. Not even giving up the Miraculous will make that curse go away. Currently there is no known way to get rid of the curse, though it's something Master Fu has been trying to search for a cure.

Because of this, Ladybug and Chat always have to be careful when it comes to each other and to the opposite sex. One hug with the wrong person and they could have their identity exposed.

Nino was just a normal boy going to school, even with the akuma attacks. He didn't have to worry about that sort of thing. He did gain a girlfriend in Alya, after a series of events and some bonding time inside one of the cages in the zoo because an akuma had all the animals on the loose. Which was ironic when Nino had tried, with Adrien's help, to get on a date with Marinette.

However when Alya's little twin sisters became akumaized and caused huge chaos, something changed.

A new superhero named Rena Rouge appeared and Nino thought she looked so cool ~~and hot~~. It seemed like new heroes might become a thing, which was exciting. What wasn't good however was the change in Alya.

The day after that incident, Alya refused to hug Nino for some reason. At first he figured that her sisters getting akumaized shook her up, even if she didn't seem upset. But the next couple days, the same thing happened. She kept refusing any hugs and this made Nino both confused and sad. What's going on? Did he do something wrong?

After another day of that, he decides to visit Alya's place and see what's up, as well as just to hang out with his girlfriend. Perhaps he can find out what's really going on and apologize if he had done something wrong.

Since ancient times, vampires existed alongside humans. They have mostly remained underground and hidden their existence from humans to protect themselves. There was a time where they were being hunted, but great effort was made to eliminate the vampire hunters and cover things up so humans disbelieved the existence of vampires.

Nino used to be a normal 15 year old Parisian human back in 1995. He had been minding his own business when a group of thugs attacked him. He nearly died when a vampire came in and killed the thugs. The vampire offered him the chance to become a vampire to save his life. It wasn't something Nino wanted, but he hadn't wanted to die either so he accepted and became a vampire.

Over the years, he's traveled the country, mostly feeding on animals because he refused to kill humans. Just recently however, he's returned to Paris after being away for a couple decades.

Apparently some super villain named Papillion was causing trouble and there are two new superheroes named Ladybug and Chat Noir. This interested Nino as Paris wasn't this interesting in the 90s.

But what also peaked his interest was Adrien Agreste. A supermodel and a 15 year old kid. He looked quite attractive and was seemingly really kind. He could imagine he and Adrien could have easily become friends back in his time if Adrien had been around then. Though then it would have made his turning all the more painful than it actually was.

He wants to meet him, but he knows as a vampire, that would be very dangerous. So he's mostly been keeping an eye out for him.

Several months have passed since Nino had broken up with Alya. Their relationship had been going great, but then it became apparent that he couldn't provide her what she needed and she broke things off. Nino had been devastated and found himself wandering around in shock. He eventually ended up near the Couffaine boat home and Luka found him.

Luka brought him inside and did his best to comfort the broken-hearted teen. Nino appreciated the comfort and he started hanging out with Luka more. Since they are both into music and a fan of Jagged Stone. As time passed, he found himself developing a crush much to his surprise. He had thought he was completely straight, but it wasn't the case. Even Adrien noticed and encouraged him to hang out with Luka.

A music contest is coming up and Nino has been helping Luka prepare. It's a couple days until the event so he's heading over to Luka's place as he has been the past couple weeks.

Perhaps tonight, more than just practice will happen...
